WAIMATUKU LABORATORIES
The New Zealand Institute for Minerals to Materials Research (NZIMMR) works with clients and stakeholders across the minerals-to-materials value chain. The R&D institute is based on the West Coast of New Zealand. Facilities at Greymouth are augmented by access to high-tech instrumentation through strategic relationships with several New Zealand universities. We work with iwi and Maori groups, private companies, universities, and other research institutions. Commercial clients range from small-scale alluvial miners to multi-nationals with market capitalization of several billion dollars.

Mineral Processing NZIMMR has qualified, and industry experienced staff employed in the facilities. The staff offer both practical, operational, and technical advice on a variety of mineralogical and metallurgical issues. The facilities contain sample preparation, mineral separation and other equipment, the size of the equipment and facility allows samples as small as a few hundred grams to hundreds of tonnes to be processed on site.

The facilities are equipped for mineral separation test work. The table below lists the equipment. We know that every project is different and we will work with clients to develop a test plan that achieves the outcomes needed by the client. This may include understanding mineral content, mineral recovery potential, or concentrate grade. Manufacturer equipment specification sheets are available.
